Accurate Forming utilizes different raw materials based on the customer and part needs. They are as follows:
Accurate Forming works with Stainless Steel in the following grades; S304, S305, S310, S316. Accurate Forming’s thickness range for deep drawn stainless steel is .005” to .032” with a tolerance of +-.001”.
Our components that are manufactured from stainless steel are supplied to many industrial OEM’s including premium writing instrument, medical, automotive, appliance, law enforcement / ordnance, laser, sensor, probe, appliance, aerospace, flashlights and industrial / commercial marker customers.
Low Carbon Steel – Components made from low carbon steel deep drawn metal stamping are typically found in applications such as structural components, automotive applications and applications that will not be in extreme weather conditions.
Copper – Using copper in the deep draw process offers very good dimensional repeatability along with very good wear life for the tooling that is making the parts. Because of the softness of copper different wall thicknesses can also be achieved.
Aluminum – Accurate Forming works with Aluminum for applications with OEM’s in the fields of marker tubes, battery storage, welding sticks, decorative and many more. Aluminum is a non-magnetic material that offers very good corrosion resistance with a lighter weight as opposed to stainless steel or carbon steel. Because of the softness of aluminum, a lower tonnage press will be required during the deep draw process. Aluminum is ductile as well. Aluminum can be finished in a variety of ways including anodizing and powder coating.
